An Irredeemable Tweet?

Rosanne's hit show was recently cancelled because of a tweet.

I personally don't like name-calling or personal attacks. Therefore, I disagree with what Rosanne said. At the same time, is she the only person alive that's said something harmful or inflammatory? No.
Since 2016 liberals have called me names like, "idiot" and "stupid" simply because I believe in an American president that puts Americans first. Although I've traveled around the world and attended college on the mainland, some of the most vicious attacks I've had were from so-called progressives who are for "compassion" and "equality".
When I was in elementary school, police officers promoted the DARE program. I recall they said that we shouldn't smoke cigarettes because it was a gateway drug. One student yelled, addressing the officer, "Eh mister, but I seen you smoking!" It was difficult for our young minds to reconcile that an adult, let alone a police officer, would lie or at least say one thing and do the other.
It is the way of the world. Most of it liberals (naturally). For example, a few liberals I know whine about fairness for the poor and homeless but I haven't seen them support any charities, volunteer at any events, nor advocate for any causes. On the other hand, while I have a stricter opinion on welfare, I've actually done advocacy work in the US and abroad, I've worked with the homeless, those with drug addiction and mental illness, and I support many local non-profits.
No one is perfect. But it's time we put our money where our mouth is. We shouldn't cry about the poor or homeless if we don't really know or understand the situation. All that does is create much ado about something we know nothing about. And aside from being ignorant, it makes us hypocritical.
Similarly, we shouldn't ostracize or mercilessly condemn someone for saying something wrong. If an apology is sincere, we ought to forgive and use it as as teachable moment. If we expect forgiveness, we ourselves must forgive.
"He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone..." John 8:7. #fireaway. Just kidding.
